Hat-trick for Henry at Magners Ulster Rugby Awards
Magners has worked tirelessly to forge strong links with local rugby since it became involved in rugby with the sponsorship of the Magners League in 2006, reflecting Magners confidence in the future of the sport at all levels in Ulster. Not only does Magners sponsor the Junior and Minor Leagues and the Ulster Junior representative team, but the it also sponsors the Ulster Rugby's annual awards which celebrate the achievements of both teams and individuals.
At this year's Magners Ulster Rugby Awards Ceremony, which were held at the La Mon Hotel in Belfast, Nicola McCleery, Head of Marketing for Tennent's NI Ltd, said: "Our rugby connections have been successful because the partnerships behind them have also proved to be winning combinations. For Magners, support for the amateur as well as the representative game has been hugely successful for the brand."

Guests gathered to celebrate the achievements and development of rugby at all levels, with the ceremony bringing together the cream of the crop in Ulster, and recognising the role that school, youth, club and professional players, as well as their representative teams and clubs, play in the development of the game in the province.
The big winner of the night was Ulster No 8 Chris Henry, who scooped three awards; the top accolade of Magners Personality of the Year, the Magners League Rugby Writers' Player of the Year award and the Ulster Rugby Supporters Club Outstanding Player of the Season award. Rugby legend Dr Jack Kyle was also honoured on the night, becoming the first inductee into the IRFU Ulster Branch Hall of Fame.
The night's award winners were as follows:

- Ulster Rugby Supporters Club Outstanding Player of the Season: Chris Henry
- Ulster Youth Player of the Year sponsored by Calor Gas: Jonathan Murphy
- Northern Bank Ulster Schools' Player of the Year: Charlie Simpson - Ballymena Academy Full Back
- Phoenix Academy Player of the Year: Nevin Spence
- Kukri Club of the Year: Ballymoney RFC
- Dorrington B Faulkner Award for Services to Rugby: Hal Burnison
- Ken Goodall Award for the Club Player of the Year, presented by City of Derry RFC: Mark Robinson, Queen's RFC.
- IRFU Ulster Branch Hall of Fame sponsored by The Belfast Telegraph: Inductee - Dr Jack Kyle
- Bank of Ireland Ulster Player of the Year: Andrew Trimble
- Vodafone Young Player: Winner - Jamie Smith, Ulster Academy Full Back
- Special Merit Award: Mr Joe Eagleson, retiring IRFU Ulster Branch Honorary Secretary
